The Lake House – a Luxury Wye Valley lodge

The Lake House is an absolutely stunning River Wye lodge that sleeps four and is the perfect lakeside self-catering holiday accommodation. The sleeping arrangement is tremendously flexible, and it can include using the super king doubles or single beds to make up two doubles, four singles, or one double with two singles.

The Lake House is a single-storey ground floor, spacious holiday home, making accessibility easier for guests with mobility issues. It has two large bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite), a large open-plan living/dining room, and a modern kitchen with more than enough space for the whole family.

The full length of the front of the building opens onto the decking overlooking the lake. Double doors to the living area and both bedrooms mean that you can lie in bed, sit on the sofa, or dine at the table and watch the water rippling on the lake and the breeze blowing in the trees.

Inside the Lake House

The Lake House is fully equipped with all modern amenities, all set on a single ground floor. In the lounge, there is a wood burner, a large sofa bed and other chairs, a flat-screen TV and DVD player, WiFi access (not available on the glamping site), and a built-in USB charging point. We also provide a wide range of board games and toys. The kitchen has all the modern appliances and utensils you would expect, and there is a dining table and seating. The master bedroom has an en-suite with a shower, and there is a main bathroom with a full-size bath as well.

Outside the Lake House

Outside, there is a covered veranda and a two-level spacious decking that provides stunning views of the lake. Furniture includes a table, loungers, plenty of outdoor seating, and a BBQ grill. Since we hire hot tubs, you can also enjoy them. Mother Nature has been left to her own devices and a natural barrier has grown around the lake to make it a haven for wildlife and child-friendly (small children will still need to be watched when playing around the lake)

No detail has been overlooked to make this a genuinely memorable holiday. We have carefully designed this house with you in mind so that your holiday is as relaxing, easy, and trouble-free as possible. Speaking of which, there is free private parking.

So much to do…

In the 80 acres of meadows and ancient woodland surrounding the Lake House, there are lots of beautiful places to discover and further afield. Set in a great location that’s only a short drive from the River Wye and Usk, you will also find many fantastic walking opportunities around the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, including the renowned Wye Valley Way. There are numerous activities nearby, which you can see on our Activities page. These range from wine tasting at a local vineyard to watching the River Wye slowly wind down to Symonds Yat on a paddle board. On your return adventure, maybe indulge in the offerings from the private chef, who can tempt you with what you can hire.
